There is a storm blowing in Aotearoa, and it gives Gina and Darren a change to review each participant's shelter. We weigh up their creative approaches to fishing, and what they do when someone actually lands a catch. We ask one of the participants about how an off-grid life prepared them for the Aotearoa wilderness, and the powerful resilience they've gained from facing down a life or death health battle. Then Dr Kate from season 1 of Alone Australia drops in for a catch up! Hear about life after Alone, her thoughts on this season, and of course, eels. The participants have been out in the wilderness for a few weeks now, and they're getting creative! Gina and Darren run through their different approaches to building shelters and their crafty fishing tactics.

After recapping episode seven of Alone Australia season 2, Gina and Darren chat with Suzan about that nasty eight-day bout of gastro, overcoming breast cancer, and her outdoor adventures prior to Alone.

I've had many opportunities in my life to practice resilience, building my house by myself is probably the most challenging thing that I've experienced. And then dancing with death with that breast cancer was really very intense. At some point in that journey I made a shift and started to dance with life more.
