- The event was spearheaded by the Philippine Consulate in Melbourne, Knights of Rizal, Kababaihang Rizalista Incorporated, and the Philippine Fiesta in Victoria and took place at the Philippine Community Centre in Laverton.
- On 30 December 2024, the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Rizal Park in Ballarat, Victoria, was also celebrated, led by the Filipino Australia Association of Ballarat Incorporated.
In an interview with SBS Filipino, Rado Gatchalian, a member of the Order of the Knights of Rizal and a former Deputy Eastern Australia Area Commander of the organisation, shared the significance of installing statues of Dr Jose Rizal in different parts of Australia.
"Filipinos should be proud to see the statue of our National Hero, Dr Jose Rizal, occupying space in another country like Australia," he said.
