Over 8 million devotees mark the Feast of Jesus Nazareno in Manila

The Traslacion, which started at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta and wound its way through the streets of Manila towards the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno in Quiapo lasted nearly 21 hours this year.

  • Data from the Nazareno Operations Center reported that this year’s Traslacion, which saw over 8 million attendees, was marked by numerous incidents as devotees attempted to get closer to the Black Nazarene’s image. Hundreds of devotees were treated by Philippine Red Cross for various injuries and health issues, ranging from fainting and dehydration to more serious injuries sustained in the crowd.
