Actor turned politician Vinod Khanna dies at the age of 70

Veteran actor and Gurudaspur MP Vinod Khanna passed away on Thursday morning in Mumbai.

Actor and politician Vinod Khanna died this morning in Mumbai, reports.

The 70-year-old actor turned politician was reportedly battling cancer since few years. 

He had an illustrious career in hindi film industry. He worked in more than 100 films like Mere Apne, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Imtihaan, Amar Akhbar Anthony, Dayavaan and Jurm.

In his later part of the career, he worked in films like Dabangg, Players, Dabangg 2 and Dilwale.

Vinod Khanna was the recipient of Filmfare award in the best supporting actor category for Haath Ki Safaai, and in 1999 he received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award.

In 2007 he won a lifetime achievement award at the Zee Cine Awards.

He was actively involved in Indian politics and was a sitting Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur, Punjab.

Few weeks ago, the news about his illness accompanied by his photograph went viral on social media.
Vinod Khanna is survived by his wife Kavita Khanna, sons Rahul, Akshaye and Sakshi, and daughter Shraddha Khanna.
