For the outer layer:

  • 1 kg grated cassava
  • 1/4 grated coconut
  • 1 tsp salt
For the filling:

  • 1 pack or 500 gr TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein; choose the dark one)
  • 1 onion, fine chopped, then fry
  • 250 gr red or green chillies, fine chopped
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Sugar (to taste)
  • Vegetable oil (as needed, to deep fry)
Instructions:

To make the skin/outer layer, mix all the ingredients needed evenly. Put aside.

To make the filling, soak the TVP in cold water for about 1 hour. Then drain.

Mix the TVP with fried onion, chilies, salt, and sugar. Stir well and until dry.

Fill the cassava with 'oncom' TVP, roll, make it like oval ball to taste. Deep fry in oil with medium heat until brown and thoroughly cooked.

Note: You can adjust the number of chillies used in the recipe.
