  • Prime Minister Scott Morrison has promised to spend more than $12 million on projects to mark the 250th anniversary of Captain Cook's first voyage to Australia and the Pacific.
 

  • The International Monetary Fund has issued a stern warning that the global economy is slowing faster than expected, amid trade tensions and rising debt. The IMF is forecasting global growth of 3.5 per cent this year, down from 3.7 per cent in 2018.
 

  • Dumped Liberal Party candidate Grant Schultz says he will run as an independent for the NSW seat of Gilmore. It follows the Liberal Party's decision to parachute Warren Mundine as its candidate, outing locally pre-selected candidate, Mr Schultz.
 

  • The two Koreas and the US wrapped up working level talks held in Stockholm, having reportedly dealt with issues regarding the upcoming US-North Korea summit and regional security.
