In a conversation with NITV Radio, Bart Watson explained that Racing Queensland has a First Nations Strategy aiming to create a more inclusive and respectful racing industry for Indigenous peoples.
The strategy focuses on cultural safety, equity, community engagement, and a sense of belonging.
It also seeks to increase Indigenous participation in racing, both as attendees and industry professionals, and to celebrate Indigenous culture within the sport.
Mr. Watson also highlighted that Racing Queensland is the only body of its kind in Australia with a Reconciliation Action Plan.
