Birrarangga Film Festival For 2025 Is Celebrating Storytelling Of First Nations Peoples and Film Makers From Around The World


Tony Briggs talks with NITV about the Birrarangga Film Festival (BFF) showcasing films and shorts First Nations stories from around the world during March from Friday 14th to Tuesday 18th.

The Birrarangga Film Festival (BFF) a biannual event held in Naarm (Melbourne) is set to have its biggest year yet with over 150 films, shorts and 360 immersive films will be gracing big screens across the city. Tony shares is the Artistic Director of the Birrarangga Film Festival (BFF) and shares his insights of some anticipated films, performances and conversations happening during the festival.

A notable collaboration between the Birrarangga Film Festival (BFF) and The Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) has formed to co-present the film Free Leonard Peltier , where tony says "It's the first time its been done and we're really proud of it" where the film can be shown at both BFF and MIFF without impacting on award and showing opportunities.

Tony Briggs continues to highlight the many of the films and events planned in the 2025 Birrarangga Film Festival (BIFF) program lie the Q and A's with many creatives including Stan Walker after performing 'I Am' post screen of Ava DuVernay's ORIGIN, as well as a director of Free Leonard Peltier , David France, and Creative Director Tony Briggs himself will be in a few panel discussions with topics of AI and sovereignty.
