Megan and Sharlene are among many residents who are watching and waiting as the storm rolls in, sharing what they are doing as they experience cyclone preparations for the first time.
Megan shares that "it's a bit insane at the moment, the shelves have been stripped bare kind of similar to what happened in COVID" but has also experience people reaching out, checking in on neighbours, sharing that "everyone has come together as a community which has been nice to see".
Sharlene is north of Brisbane in Deception bay, and has been keeping an eye on alerts as well as the ocean where "at times i can see Moreton bay and then at times I can't" as she describes big swells from the ocean.
