Arty. Julia Leontyev and Natalie Doubrovsky's exhibition in Melbourne

Over the weekend, Melbourne's 26 Advantage Gallery opened an exhibition, Past. Present. Progress, by artists Julia Leontyev and Natalie Doubrovsky. Both artists grew up in the former Soviet Union, moved to Australia in the 1990s and started painting as adults after meeting at a literary club. Julia Leontyev creates abstract art, while Natalie Doubrovsky creates objective art.

We talked about their working methods, using different media, painting with credit cards, as well as about Australian art and how literature brought Julia and Natalie together and started a new path in painting.
