When will Anthony Albanese and Peter Dutton debate next? Here's what to know

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Opposition leader Peter Dutton have already debated twice — and there are two more events to come.

We're now more than halfway through the 2025 Australian federal election campaign, and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Opposition Leader Peter Dutton are set to go head-to-head twice more.

Here's what you need to know about the upcoming debates.

When will Anthony Albanese and Peter Dutton debate next?

The third leaders’ debate between Albanese and Dutton will be broadcast live by Channel Nine on Tuesday 22 April at 7.30pm AEST — the same day early voting opens.

The hour-long event will be moderated by A Current Affair host Ally Langdon, with questions chosen by a panel of journalists. They include Deb Knight from Sydney's 2GB radio, Phil Coorey of the Australian Financial Review, and Nine News' chief political editor Charles Croucher.

The event will be broadcast on Channel Nine, 9Now and Stan.
Seven News will host the fourth and final debate on Sunday 27 April at 8pm AEST — six days out from polling day.

Sunrise’s Natalie Barr will host the televised event, which will be moderated by the network's political editor Mark Riley.

It will be available for viewers to watch live on Seven and 7plus.

The SBS News online team will also run live coverage of both debates.

What debates have already been held?

The cost of living crisis, housing, migration, and nuclear energy were among of the issues raised during previous debates.

Albanese was on 8 April, having won over 44 of 100 undecided voters. Some 35 backed Dutton, and 21 were undecided.
The , Treasurer Jim Chalmers and Opposition treasury spokesman Angus Taylor went head-to-head on guiding Australia through tough economic times.
 
On 10 April, Energy Minister Chris Bowen and Coalition energy spokesperson Ted O’Brien over power bills.

And on 16 April, the ABC hosted the .
