Sri Lankan Tamil wins prestigious literary award

When she wrote her first manuscript, she was told her stories weren't Australian enough. Shankari Chandran is now a proud winner of the Miles Franklin Literary Award. Her third novel ‘Chai Time at Cinammon Gardens' tackles colonisation and the hidden challenges of multiculturalism, in a confronting, but endearing story.
