With Christmas approaching, concerns about Benedikt's mental health are causing tension at home. Steinunn, who is pregnant and worried, tries to support him, but when the birth approaches, Benedikt has to make a decision about what he wants.

Benedikt is transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but a reckless joke he makes becomes a media scandal that isolates him politically and leaves Steinunn and Grímur trying to deal with the consequences.
