When Carla goes into labour, Turk shares his excitement by striking up the band to escort her to the hospital. JD and Kim think about their future and their child's future.

JD realises that he and Kim are surprisingly compatible. With the baby born, Carla thinks about returning to work.

Dr Cox deals with three medical mysteries. Carla starts to show symptoms of postpartum depression. JD attempts to be the best boyfriend ever so that Kim won't leave town.

J.D. enjoys the luxuries Elliot's private practice buys, but his jealousy soon comes to the fore. Elsewhere, Dr Cox bunks with the Janitor in one of the hospital's luxury suites.

When a patient wakes up in the hospital, she sees everything around her happening as a musical. Carla is unsure about returning to work. Elliot must figure out a way to tell JD that he cannot move to her new house with her.

Dr Kelso remembers what it means to be a good leader after befriending patient Private Brian Dancer, who just returned from Iraq. The staff divides along party lines as Dancer's presence provokes a political debate.

Turk convinces JD that Kim's first ultrasound should be in Tacoma, Washington. Everyone jumps in Kelso's caravan for a road trip. Dr Cox and Jordan worry about the results of an ultrasound.

JD deals with losing his apartment and his girlfriend while suffering from a condition that results in fainting or blackouts. Elliot and Turk debate who will take care of a resident, while a Croation doctor arrives at the hospital.

JD struggles to ask out a sexy new physical therapist after falling for her. Turk heads back to residency after breaking his arm and Dr Cox helps him realise he knows less about medicine than he thought. Elliot asks Keith to move in.

The Sacred Heart staff dredge up some of their own memories while helping a patient regain his memory. They reflect back on the past six years and consider all the changes that have occurred.

Private Dancer is ready to be released from Sacred Heart. Dr Cox tells Carla something she would rather not hear.

Unbeknown to Dr Kelso, JD and Turk try to beat the system to treat the Chief's uninsured friend. Dr Cox believes a reformed drug addict isn't clean.

JD and Turk become distracted by Turk's attractive new nanny. One staff member enters a life-threatening coma.

When nurse Roberts takes a turn for the worse, the team are faced with the possibility of her death and all deal with it in their own way.

After saying goodbye to Nurse Roberts, the Sacred Heart staff try to include some of her life lessons into their own lives.

Ted deals with fantasies of having a full head of hair and reality where he is helping the nurses get a raise. Todd helps Turk save his reputation. Jordan tries to mend Elliot and Keith's relationship.

When Elliot's wild sorority sister pays her a visit, JD ends up feeling like a third wheel. Turk and Dr Cox disagree about the necessity of patient-requested surgery.

After Elliot discovers that her engagement ring doesn't fit, Keith allows her to organise her own engagement. JD pursues Elliot's sorority sister.

Elliot starts planning her wedding to Keith. Meanwhile, JD accidentally runs into an ex-girlfriend when Turk invites him to a surgeons' convention in Phoenix.

JD invites Kim to move in with him so they can raise their child together. Elliot is helped by Carla to plan for her upcoming wedding to Keith.

Elliot and JD start to wonder about their futures and wonder if they have both made mistakes; the janitor tries to make Keith into the perfect husband for Elliot.
