The world can be a dark and scary place, which is precisely why the internet latches onto every positive news story like it's a life-raft in stormy seas.
At the moment, one of these life-rafts is Charlotte Awbery, the softly spoken and impossibly polite 31-year-old professional singer who rose to fame after participating in a viral 'finish the lyric' video on her way to catch the London Tube.
Since the video went viral, Awbery, who works singing at weddings and bars, has appeared on The Ellen Show and amassed over 600,000 followers on social media, including the likes of Ariana Grande.
Now the instant gay icon is not only planning on releasing an official cover of the Lady Gaga song as a single, but she'll be premiering it at London nightlife institution G-A-Y.
During a , Awbery said: “I write all my own stuff, hopefully, fingers crossed I can show people my own music.
She added: "Everyone’s been asking me to do the cover of it so I’m actually going to be releasing a single of it.”
The singer also reiterated that the initial video, which has racked up over 60 million views, was not staged, saying: “I was literally just going to meet a friend. It was random. It was mad. Thankfully I knew the song!”
Charlotte also explained to Kelly that she had been on a flight to New York City when she learned of the video going viral.
“It was only when I got to the other end and my mum phoned me to see if I’d landed safe, and she said: ‘Have you seen what’s going on?’”
