There's just something about watching a grown man cry happy tears that helps one get through a mid-week slump, and Schitt's Creek star and co-creator Eugene Levy has served it up in spades.
Like pretty much every arts organisation in the world right now, the Newport Beach Film Festival had to get creative when it came to awarding Levy their annual Lifetime Achievement Award - organising for a seemingly unending line of former colleagues to record moving video messages, which were compiled and delivered to the veteran comedy actor.
Fortunately (for us) his response was also captured on camera. Because he was visibly touched, and now so are we.
"Let me just say, what an honor it is for me to not be there tonight, to be able to tribute you and not really have to do much or go anywhere and just stay home, is such a thrill," Steve Martin, who appeared with Levy in Father of the Bride, said.
"A lifetime, a lifetime recognition," his son Dan added. "And you're only halfway there."
Taking to social media, Dan shared the video, describing it as "unfiltered joy".
"Want to experience pure, unfiltered joy? Watch my Dad try to hold back the tears when he is surprised by his friends and cast mates in this little tribute video for his Lifetime Achievement Achievement Award at the Newport Beach Film Festival," he tweeted.
"Love you, Dad! You deserve it all."
