For the past 10 years, Adhika Incorporated has been undertaking programs to celebrate International Women's Day (IWD) paying tribute to Filipino women for their achievements in various fields and contributions to the wider community in Australia.
The group, founded by Filipino community leader Josie Musa, is a network of community broadcaster and radio presenters in New South Wales.
This year, in partnership with Kababaihang Rizalista Incorporated (KRI) - Sydney Chapter, Adhika Inc. will recognise 'Outstanding Filipino women and young girls' through their International Women's Day Honours List.
"In the last 10 years, we have been holding IWD events to pay tribute to women and celebrate their contributions to society as well as girls to ensure that they grow up empowered to take on challenges along the way," Adhika founder Josie Musa shares.
On March 15, they will hold the '2025 International Women's Day Forum and Dinner' at Dooleys Catholic Club, Regents Park New South Wales.
It will honour outstanding Filipino girls and women who have demonstrated exceptional service, courage, determination, leadership, love and care for others.
There will also be a forum to discuss issues affecting women and girls, including leadership, equality, creativity, sustainability and development, and green and the digital economy. It will try to outline ways to ensure equal opportunities for all - regardless of gender.

In a similar event in 2023, Dr Zeny Edwards OAM was one of the esteemed guests who shared her expertise and experiences as a female leader in her field.
An architectural historian, award-winning author and biographer, Dr Edwards, who has lived in Australia for almost 50 years, is a testament to women's talent and ability in leadership, making a difference in fields mostly dominated by men.
"I think your path to the future is guided by something higher than yourself," says the 2020 Medal of the Order of Australia recipient.
In addition to Women's Day, the whole month of March is dedicated to Women's History Month.
This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the UN Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. This document has become a blueprint for women's rights around the world.
