Giro D’Italia’s owner Domenico De Marco has launched an innovative heat-and-eat Pasta Per Tutti offering quality food, ready to made and at a cheap price. No cooking, no washing up, and in three minutes you have a delicious pasta bowl.
The bowls are designed so that literally anyone can prepare a restaurant quality dish of pasta in their home, and come with simple preparation instructions for the microwave.
After a long day at work, Domenico was sipping a midnight instand noodles soup when he wondered if it was technically possible to prepare a similar easy-to-prepare meal, based on a hand made pasta that clients could take away and cook in the microwave.
After a night and a day of trials and difficult attempts, the Milan-born Italian chef finally managed to break through the secret of a couple of types of pasta, such as rigatoni and gnocchi.
He wasn't quite as successfull with spaghetti and any egg of fish based sauces. But he created six condiments – Bolognese, Tomato and Basil, Zingara, Amatriciana, Quattro Formaggi and Arrabbiata - that can cook within 2 and half minutes in the microwave along with the pasta.
Social distancing and anti-gathering rules have provoked a tsunami that has hit the world on catering. We are interviewing Italian restaurateurs, chefs, pizza makers, pastry chefs and importers from Australia who have managed to keep their activities alive thanks to original and ingenious ideas.
