IPL 2018 has announced the list of eighteen players that were retained by eight franchises.
Virat Kohli was the biggest winner from Thursday's player-retention event in Mumbai, with the India captain set to pocket the biggest IPL salary in the competition's history.
Kohli became the most expensive player in IPL history after RCB spent Rs 17 crore ($3.4 million) on retaining his services.
Kohli surpassed Yuvraj Singh who was picked up for 16 Crores by Delhi Daredevils in 2015.
Test skipper Steve Smith and his deputy David Warner were able to secure the most lucrative contracts ever offered to an Australian cricketer.
Smith and Warner were each retained for the 2018 IPL season for price of INR 12 crore (app $AUD 2.4 million) by Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively.
