A truck that rolled away without a driver in the cabin has ploughed into an art gallery in Hawthorn.
Video footage showed the driver-less delivery truck slamming into two cars before hitting the wall of the art gallery.
With the truck coming their way, some vehicles moved away while others were left helpless.
Eden Jones told Nine News that it was very frightening to watch the truck rolling back without a driver.
“It was quite scary...You see a truck coming in....Is it going to stop? No it won’t as no one in the truck,” said Ms Jones.
Navdeep Singh driver of the truck told Nine News that it was ‘just an accident’.
“It was an accident...nobody plans for it,” said Mr Singh.
Mr Singh told the battery was flat and he had requested for help.
It was reported that the driver had put the truck into neutral, released the handbrake and may have applied the jump lead to start the truck.
Police is investigating the matter. No one was hurt in this incident.
