A Pakistani international student in Australia has reportedly died and another is injured after their car hit a tree in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The victim was identified as Muhammad Usman Jabbar, 27, a student at Edith Cowan University in Western Australia.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services had to use the jaws of life to free the victim.
Tanzeel Jaseem, 23, who was driving the car, is being treated at the Royal Perth Hospital.

Early reports indicate slippery road conditions may have caused the car to skid, resulting in the accident.

However, the Western Australia police is still investigating the matter.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani community in Perth has expressed grief and sorrow over the accident. 

Pakistan Association of Western Australia President Dr Mohammad Jehangir has asked community members to pray for the victim and his family.
