15. Episode 15
Five years after bursting onto the scene aboard a factory GasGas, Daniel 'Chucky' Sanders achieves the ultimate dream of winning the biggest and most demanding rally raid event in the world.
The Victorian led home Australia's Dakar challenge, of which there were five entries and only three made it to the end. Along with Sanders, Mildura's Toby Hederics and Melbourne's Peter and Christopher Schey all made it to the finish line in Shubaytah.
14. Episode 14
Daniel Sanders survived a crash on the penultimate stage to finish the day in sixth and continues to lead the Dakar by nine minutes. Having led the entire event from the very start, the Victorian is now one stage away from clinching his maiden win. Toby Hederics all but locked in a top ten finish in Rally 2 and the top 20 outright with a 25th outright result and the Schey brothers now sit 13th outright in the Classic Dakar, with one stage to go.
13. Episode 13
Australia's Daniel Sanders is inching ever so closer to his maiden Dakar win, extending his lead over Spain's Tosha Schareina on the tenth stage in the Empty Quarter. Toby Hederics is firmly focussed on finishing his maiden Dakar, despite a bout of illness the day before and The Schey Brothers are on track to finish in the top 15 of Classic Dakar.
12. Episode 12
The ninth stage of Dakar was one that required the utmost concentration and high speed, all whilst keeping mistakes to a minimum. Daniel Sanders was track to do just that and claim an unprecedented sixth stage win in this year's rally, but made a few navigational errors to finish the day in third, whilst retaining the overall lead. Toby Hederics survived a day of sickness to finish in the top five of Rally 2 and the Schey Brother maintain their top 15 position in Classic Dakar.
11. Episode 11
Daniel 'Chucky' Sanders continues to leads the Australian charge at the 2025 Dakar Rally, playing a tactical game of maintaining his advantage over Honda's Tosha Schareina in the bikes category. Mildura's Toby Hederics continues to impress on his Dakar debut, now sitting in the top ten of the Rally 2 standings and the Schey brothers have their best ever stage finish in Classic Dakar, as they keep their eyes forward to the finish line in Shubaytah.
10. Episode 10
Daniel 'Chucky' Sanders won his fifth Dakar stage to become the first rider since Toby Price in 2016 to win five Dakar stages in a single edition of the event. Toby Hederics successfully completes another stage to continue his good form in Rally 2 for the BAS World KTM team and the Schey Brothers survive the dunes and a few mechanical scares to continue their climb up the Classic Dakar leaderboard.

After a gallant campaign, Toby Price and Sam Sunderland are out of the 2025 edition of the Dakar Rally. Heavy concussion for Sunderland after a number of head knocks inside the cockpit of their Toyota have forced the high profile pair out. They were joined on the retirement list by Andrew Houlihan. His Malle Moto campaign coming to an abrupt end when he crashed heavily and sustained multiple rib fractures, on top of his broken nose and bicep tear a few days before. Daniel Sanders remains the outright leader in the bikes category by almost 12 minutes.

Daniel Sanders, Toby Price and Andrew Houlihan reflect on the first week of their respective Dakar 2025 campaigns so far, after a gruelling opening week in Saudi Arabia.
7. Episode 7
Having led into the fifth stage with a lead of more than 13 minutes, Australian Daniel Sanders took a significant hit, after being penalised for breaking the speed limit. Despite this, he retains a seven minute lead at the end fo the opening week. Toby Hederics again shone in the Rally 2 class, finishing again in the top ten and Malle Moto competitor Andrew Houlihan described the Enduro stages as the hardest that he's ever written. And with nothing left to lose, Toby Price is continuing to plough on in the cars category, despite the Stage 4 dramas that took him out of outright contention.
6. Episode 6
It was a stage where Honda's Tosha Schareina played cat and mouse games with current leader, KTM's Daniel Sanders, but the Aussie pounced at the final moment to take his fourth stage win and asset his dominance on Dakar. But it was a stage of despair for Toby Price and Sam Sunderland. After a strong showing for much of stage 4, an axle failure in their Toyota Hilux saw the pair drop out of outright contention.
5. Episode 5
Australia's Daniel Sanders maintains his overall lead in the bike category of the Dakar, but the margin was substantially slashed after navigational issues traversing the predominantly rocky course. Toby Price and Sam Sunderland battled with overheating issues with their Toyota Hilux and nursed it to the finish, where they now sit sixth outright in the cars. Toby Hederics finished in the top ten of Rally 2 for the first time and the Schey brothers enjoyed a fruitful day in Classic Dakar, whilst Andrew Houlihan against struggled with his electrical gremlins, but made it to the finish.
4. Episode 4
Daniel Sanders made it three stage wins in a row by conquering the 48H Chrono, all whilst extending his outright lead in the bike category to over 12 minutes.
Toby Price also had a great second stage, gaining eight spots in the cars general classification to sit fourth outright, after finishing ninth on the stage.
Toby Hederics and the Schey Brothers also had a strong finish to the respective stages, but Andrew Houlihan was forced to abandon the stage, after electrical gremlin curtailed his planned push to finish the stage.
3. Episode 3
Almost 1000km of competitive rally raid awaited the Australians of the 2025 Dakar in the 48 H Chrono.
Daniel Sanders continued his dominant form leading the stage and outright, whilst it was a positive day for Toby Hederics and Andrew Houlihan.
Toby Price recovered from his electrical dramas on Stage 1 to perform strongly on the opening day of the Chrono, but it was a day of dramas in Classic Dakar for the Schey Brothers.
2. Episode 2
Stage 1 of the 2025 Dakar Rally was a tough way to start proceedings for the Australian teams. Through the dust and obstacles of the 413km round trip to and from Bisha, Daniel "Chucky" Sanders made it back to back stage wins and extended his outright lead on the bikes to two minutes.
But it wasn't so easy for Toby Price, who encountered a multitude of electrical gremlins before it went to stealth mode at the stage finish and refused to restart. He managed to push it over the line to be 12th outright.
1. Episode 1
The Australian contingent for the 2025 Dakar got off to a very strong start, headlined by Daniel 'Chucky" Sanders taking out the Prologue in the bike category.
Toby Hederics and Andrew Houlihan performed solidly in Rally 2 and Malle Moto respectively, whilst Peter and Christopher Schey got their Classic Dakar campaign off to a positive start.
And Toby Price's transition to cars went better than expected with an 11th place result, finishing ahead of some more fancied runners.
