As one of the religions that the human race have been adhering to since more than 1,400 years ago, Islam has spread to many corners of the world and has blended with many cultures, traditions and languages, from the Middle East to Europe, Asia and even Australia.

Thus, the Eid-al-FItr celebration in Melbourne’s public open space, Federation Square, was rightfully colored by many cultures manifesting themselves in traditional clothing, dances and food, even though for some people, Islam is mainly associated with Middle Eastern Culture.

The Eid celebration in Federation Square on Saturday, April 5 2025, was part of Salam Fest, a festival that aims to showcase the rich variety of Muslim cultures and traditions around the world.
